Thoughts on Bailiwick today at Chelmsford

Bailiwick runs in the 1.45 at Chelmsford this afternoon (Sunday, 23 January). Richard Kingscote rides the gelding in the 7 furlong handicap. Bailiwick wears blinkers for the first time as he is quite a laid-back horse and Richard felt it would help him travel better during his races when riding him last time out. He finished fourth a week ago at Chelmsford in a better race than this when returning after a short absence from the track and should come on a little bit from the run. Being drawn widest of all in stall eight is not particularly helpful around this track.

Lupo D’Oro was second when Bailiwick was fourth and although an infrequent winner he looks the main danger with the  veteran The Happy Hammer another who can play a part.
