Thoughts on Bravo Zulu

Bravo Zulu is another one from our team looking to continue his fine start to the season in the 2.20pm at Newmarket on Tuesday 16th April. Richard Kingscote will be in the saddle in the 1 mile handicap, bidding to make it two from two on board this colt.

Bravo Zulu has made a really good start to his career winning his maiden and then his novice in good style. He makes the transition to handicap company here. The data we analyse in the horses training here at Sarsen Farm suggests he has the potential to be useful. The team have always liked him and visually he works well. The step up in trip is a definite positive. He has won over seven furlongs and is likely to get ten furlongs in due course. The mile looks good for now on what will be his first start on turf. The draw is a slight negative but the field isn’t so big it should make a massive difference.

Bravo Zulu and Richard Kingscote winning at Kempton Park

This looks a competitive race, as one would expect for a three year old handicap at a good meeting there are likely to be several horses who go on to better things. We were second in this race a couple of years ago with Outgate who went on to win two very valuable handicaps and over a £100,000 before being sold to Hong Kong.

The Camden Colt is a course and distance runner up and was set some stiff tasks earlier in his career and brings some solid form to the table. Airisaig is a sizeable filly and likely to improve this season and has formline that ties in closely to Bravo Zulu. Crown Estate improved for having a wind operation and a tongue tie when winning his maiden at the fourth attempt. If he continues to progress he can be a danger. Broadway Act sets a solid standard and should he have improved over the winter, benefit from the the extra furlong he can put his course experience to good use.

Bravo Zulu runs for the Capture The Moment syndicate and will be led up by Shannon Pasotti who cares for him daily at home.
