Thoughts on Castelo
Castelo makes her second career start this evening in the 6.10 at Chelmsford. Lewis Edmunds claims 3lbs in the six furlong novice race. The filly was green on debut but shaped nicely in what looked a competitive race at Windsor. She has been the type to learn with experience the whole way through her training to date and should have learned plenty from that experience and will take another step forward here. The draw is a real downer being stuck out widest of all so a bit of luck is required in running early on to get a nice position. She will step up to seven furlongs once that becomes an option and today will teach her more in preparation.
The opposition with form have achieved it in races of a similar nature and the best bit of form looks to be that of Buckingham who will have taken a lot from his debut third when his inexperience showed. There is nothing amongst the newcomers that jumps out particularly on pedigree and the sales prices are limited due to the nature of the race.
