Thoughts on Castelo

Castelo goes in the 1.45 at Ffos Las today. George Downing is aboard for the seven furlong nursery. Castelo steps into nursery company for the first time having shown fair form in her novice races, particularly her two turf efforts. She should enjoy the easier ground she gets today, we have waited a while for it. We think she will improve over a bit further again in due course and is a filly that should really come into her own next year.

The race looks quite open, Sesame who is near enough favourite after a decent nursery debut over six furlongs last time probably sets a the standard, One Kiss and Improvising have decent runs to their names. Of the nursery debutantes Riverwing who ran in some decent novice races at big tracks look an obvious type to improve now stepping up in distance especially with the booking of Silvestre De Sousa.
