Thoughts on Castelo

Castelo bids to make a winning start for the team in 2020 as we look to build on our best year to date, a season that saw us rated in the top 10% of trainers based on strike rate.

The filly runs in the 4.00 at Chelmsford this afternoon. The four year old took a step forward last time out over a mile in a race that looks to be working out well (second has won since). Jason Hart who rode then is back in the plate. The filly tackles ten furlongs for the first time today. Yet again the filly hasn’t had much luck with the draw. The cheek pieces are retained.

Odds On Oli a last time out winner of a stronger race is the horse to beat here, he does have the car park draw out in 15 which gives the rest a bit more of a chance in what looks a race that lacks quality. The better drawn Carvelas might be the biggest danger.

Castelo will be led up by Andy Williams, her regular rider at home, and overseen by travelling manager Shaun Johnson. She is owned by the Diskovery Partnership.
