Thoughts on Chica Rapida at Chepstow
Chica Rapida makes her debut at Chepstow tomorrow afternoon (Thursday 10th of September) in the 2.15. Steve Drowne will be riding the three year old filly in the seven furlong maiden. Chica Rapida is a big strong filly out of a listed winner, Tora Bora who’s best distance was seven furlongs. She is by Paco Boy who was seen to best effect over seven furlongs and a mile. However her works suggests that this will be the absolute minimum and she should be better over a mile or even ten furlongs. Chica has done some very encouraging work at home but takes a while to learn in new situations so it is expected that she will very much need this experience on her first day at the races.
There are plenty in this race who have been close to winning similar contests but have had several attempts now and perhaps the once raced Real Smart will improve past all of them now that she has had that experience, particularly as it was over course and distance.
