Thoughts on Chitra
Chitra runs this afternoon in the 4.10 at Wolverhampton. Adam McNamara is aboard the mare in the 5f handicap and they are drawn in stall 1. Chitra bids for an eight career win and was a close second over course and distance on her penultimate start. She faded last time out after forcing too strong a pace from a wide draw.
There looks to be plenty of pace within the race. Miaella is dangerous if she can continue in fine form after completing an all-weather four timer. However, this is a deeper race than she has encountered to date. Alsvinder is a long time since winning but has been running well of late and this is a drop in class. Drakefell is another who should be close having run pretty consistently in a slightly higher grade since returning from a break.
Chitra was bred and is owned by Gary and Lesley Middlebrook. She is by Sea The Moon, out of the Shamardal mare, Persian Star. She will be led up by James Pulley and overseen by Travelling Manager, Shaun Johnson.
