Thoughts on Chitra

Chitra runs in the 12.10 at Lingfield today (Thursday 28th of November). Richard Kingscote who is three from three aboard the filly is back in the saddle. Chitra has gone very close in Class 4 company several times and the sharp 6 furlongs should play to her strengths. The wide draw poses a challenge, although Chitra is capable of breaking very well so that may negate some of the effects of the draw.

The race looks as if it will be run strongly, which might not suit Chitra, in what looks a typically open sprint handicap. The progressive Spirited Guest will have to continue on his progressive curve to keep ahead of a solid bunch. Mohareb and Daring Venture are not totally exposed at the trip and may also have more to offer. Sonja Henjie struggled in Class 2 company and maybe found a shorter trip against him last time, so effectively is another unexposed at this level. Spring Romance looks the one to beat at this level and is a course and distance winner if returning to form after a break.

Chitra was bred and is owned by Gary and Lesley Middlebrook. She will be led up James Pulley and overseen by Travelling Manager Shaun Johnson, who often rides her at home.

We currently have some exciting horses for sale including shares in a filly by Kodi Bear who looks incredibly athletic and has been pleasing us in her homework.
