Thoughts on Chitra at Nottingham
Chitra goes to Notthingham for the 2.00 this afternoon. George Downing rides in the five furlong fillies novice race. Chitra ran a nice race on debut to get beaten just three and a half lengths by one with experience. With a short field this looked like a race worth having a crack at and a nice start for the filly to get onto the turf. She will be more effective over further in due course but the experience will stand her in good stead once those races are available to her.
Delft Dancer was green on debut and should improve for that run, its hard to know with early season form how good that race was but it doesn’t look dissimilar a level to what Chitra displayed on debut so it will be very much down to which of the pair improves the most for the experience. Skeetah has the benefit of having recently come from a breeze up sale so has about the nearest one can get to race experience, her sales price increased and and she has the pedigree of an early season two year old and is by a young sire who had his winner at the weekend in Heeraat, whose progeny generally looked sharp and early at the sales. Red Handed makes up the field and is worth noting purely because her trainer’s horses could not be in better form at the moment, in particular his two year olds albeit the pedigree of this one is nothing spectacular.
