Thoughts on Chitra This Afternoon
Chitra runs this afternoon at Lingfield Park in the 3.30pm 5f Handicap. Richard Kingscote is aboard the filly and together, the pair have been first past the post three times. Chitra had a good run last time out over 6 furlongs just fading in the final strides after a bold effort hence today’s drop back to 5f. She is capable of breaking well and has a good draw in stall 4.
The veteran Green Door, not the force he once was but drops to to a class five handicap for the first time in his long career is probably the horse to beat. Something Lucky drops back down in distance from his previous 3 starts and could come close having been consistent at this sort of level of late. Coronation Cottage has been in good form of late on the all weather in similar races, but may need a little more to win this.
Chitra was bred and is owned by Gary and Lesley Middlebrook. She is by Sea The Moon, and out of Sharmardal mare, Persian Star. She will be led up by James Pulley and overseen by Claire.
