Thoughts on Closeness – Wednesday February 1st
Closeness has her second run for the stable today, she will line up at Kempton at 5pm with Kieran Shoemark in the saddle.
The filly made an encouraging start to life at Sarsen Farm when third. That run came after more than a year off the track and she is entitled to step forward for that run. She looks to have stripped a little fitter too.

A fairly ordinary looking race, with horses who finished in behind Closeness last time such as Twistaline No Diggity and Sirius White looking amongst the main dangers. No Diggity won this race last year and it with money overnight for him it wouldn’t be a complete surprise if there was an improvement in form. Lake Sand drops to the lowest level for the first time and ought to be competitive. Lord Clenaghcastle is another who should be more competitive at this level.
Closeness runs in te colours of owner Lee David New and will be led up by Ilse Belien.
