Thoughts on Crius at Lingfield tomorrow.
Crius runs int he 2.00 at Lingfield tomorrow (21st of December). Richard Kingscote is in the saddle for the one mile conditions race. Crius joined us in the summer, formerly a very smart two year old he had lost his way with his previous trainer and his owners felt that a change of scenery might well be of benefit to him. He arrived with several niggling injuries which we have hopefully got to the bottom of. He looks really well in his coat and hasn’t had a clip, quite amazing for a horse at the back end of December. Tomorrow is very much about finding out where we are with the horse. He has done a good amount of work but will no doubt come on a little for the run. Richard rode him in a decent six furlong piece of work last weekend, which is useful as he is far from an easy ride.
The race features a real mix of wily old campaigners, a few that have lost their way and up and coming young horses looking to make the next step from handicap company up to better things. Tasrih is very much in the latter category and if able to continue his progression will be a big threat. Mia’s Boy ran a decent race last time after a couple of lesser efforts and sets a level of form that could ought to see him go close.
