Thoughts on Crucible today at Warwick
Crucible runs in the 3.40 today at Warwick. Mickael Barzalona takes the ride in the 7f furlong maiden for three year olds. Crucible is a big strong colt. He only came in the middle of last summer having been given plenty of time to develop as he was a lot foal and hasn’t quite reached his third birthday. We’ve brought him along patiently as he isn’t the fastest of learners but has been gradually improving with each piece of work he has done during the spring. A laid back character at home we’d expect him to come on quite a bit from this run both physically and mentally.
The race itself looks to be a fairly typical one for the time of year, full of very lightly raced horses with all manner of potential. Voyageofdiscovery set a pretty good standard and one of the others will have to show improved from their earlier runs to trouble him. Old Guard is a well bred colt who could be anything on his first start. Pipe Dream ran well on debut but didn’t follow that up second time out at the end of last season, back in action he is another who could be in the mix.
Crucible in action.
