Thoughts on Dawn Commando

Dawn Commando runs in the 6:30 at Kempton this evening. Adam Kirby retains the ride in the mile classified stakes. The combination was second over course and distance in a very similar race last time out. The winner looked well handicapped and duly followed up in a better grade next time out. They have a decent draw in stall three.

A tricky race to work out. Push Back tries different headgear on his first start for a new trainer and is having just his fourth career start so is open to more improvement than most. Angel Black falls is another trying handicap company for the first time. Sir Lancelott is consistent enough at this level as is Red Cossack. Herringswell may benefit from the slight ease in grade as he hasn’t been disgraced in slightly better races of late.

Dawn Commando races for Andrew Stonehill. He will be led up Andy Williams this evening and supervised by Travelling Manager Shaun Johnson. He is normally ridden by Office Manager Grace Stephens at home.
