Thoughts on Dawn Commando
Dawn Commando runs in the 4.45 at Doncaster this afternoon. George Downing rides in the mile and a quarter maiden. A big scopey horse and a laid back character we expect Dawn Commando to improve as the year goes on and he should make into a nice horse. Its first day at school for him so he will learn from the experience. The ground will be pretty soft and he hasn’t done much work on the grass since last summer so thats a slight concern.
An open looking recent and not much recent form to go on. Proschema sets a decent standard on his two year old form and is proven on soft ground, one would expect some improvement as a three year old too. Voyager Blue’s recent all weather form is a similar level but obviously a vastly different surface to the one he encounters today. The well bred newcomers with hefty yearling price tags, Argentello, In Demand and Chiave di Volta are all potential rivals for the two with form.
