Thoughts on Debutante Affileo

Affileo makes her debut in the 5.10 at Wolverhampton this afternoon (16th February). Joe Fanning will be riding in the seven furlong fillies maiden. Affileo is gradually learning her job and is ready for the big step of her first trip to the races. We expect her to learn a lot from the experience. The trip is on the sharp side for her but we wanted to keep her to fillies only company to begin her career and not get too tired late on. The tight bends at Wolverhampton will teach her and there will be varying levels of ability on display so she should get quite a bit from the race.

The race is evenly split between experienced runners and newcomers but its Godolphin who look to hold the strong hand in the race with the best of those with experience in the form of Simple Elegance and the most likely type in terms of pedigree of the newcomers with Coin a Phrase.
