Thoughts on Don Diego Vega

Don Diego Vega makes his debut this afternoon in the 1:15 at Newbury. George Downing rides the two year old colt in the seven furlong novice contest. The Toronado colt is a brother to several winners and is coming along nicely at home. He will learn plenty from his first day at school and its nice to take one down the road. Newbury is a good experience for young horse, the fields are big and there are plenty of horses in a similar position. It also has excellent new owners facilities and there is a good days racing in prospect for the members of Capture the Moment. In the long run we’d expect he will want a little bit further and better ground than he will encounter today.

Masaru comes here with a good win under his belt and sets a very good standard for the less experienced horses to aim at. London Eye is the one on paper that catches the eye but there are plenty of interesting types involved.
