Thoughts on Don’t Tell Claire

Don’t Tell Claire heads to Newmarket this afternoon for the 3.15. Jack Mitchell takes the ride in the seven furlong handicap. The ground had slightly gone against the filly last time out at Ascot and she ran a game race in the circumstances. It looked a decent race and she had a couple of today’s rivals in behind.

Don’t Tell Claire winning at Sandown

This race looks a similarly competitive affair, Arabic Charm has been second on her last two starts both at this sort of level. One Small Step beat Don’t Tell Claire earlier in the season, but not everything went right that day for Don’t Tell Claire, One Small Step has only maintained that level of form since so there probably isn’t a lot between them. Blue Skyline steps up in grade after winning on soft going and has the blinkers added as well. They will need to bring about further improvement. Hot Summer drops back in trip, but his best run was on soft going at the track so there are a couple unknowns. Colonel Whitehead was in behind Don’t Tell Claire when she won at Sandown but has continued to progress including a win last weekend at Lingfield.

Don’t Tell Claire races for Andrew Stonehill. She as bought as a yearling by Daniel and Claire for Andrew. She will be led up today by Ilse Belien and overseen by Shaun Johnson.
