Thoughts on Don’t Tell Claire

Don’t Tell Claire heads to Newcastle this evening for the 7.15. Adam McNamara is in the saddle for the one mile handicap. The filly has been very consistent all season and run several good races. This is her first attempt at a mile.

The race looks an open and competitive affair. The real question that most of these have to ask is whether this is their best trip. Wild Hope therefore is the standard setter and the one that they will have to beat. He does occasionally through in a bad run. The same can be said for Striding Edge who on a going day is respected. Starry Eyes returned from a break last time and may show more as she was running respectably in some tough contests in Dubai last winter.

Don’t Tell Claire is by Gutaifan, out of the Mount Nelson mare, Avenbury. Today she will be led up by James Pulley, and overseen by Shaun Johnson. Don’t Tell Claire races for Andrew Stonehill, and she was purchased as a yearling by Daniel and Claire.
