Thoughts on Don’t Tell Claire at Kempton

Don’t Tell Claire makes her debut today at Kempton Park in the 5.10pm 6f Fillies’ Novice Auction Stakes. Hollie Doyle takes the ride and the filly is drawn in stall 8. Don’t Tell Claire has shown ability at home but it is her first day at school and we’d expect there to be some improvement. Six is fine for her to start but she may want a bit further in due course.

This looks a competitive heat, Lapses Lingue has a great draw and showed good form on her second start in her native Ireland when third. Cry Havoc made a promising debut when second. Gazelle showed promise in a good race on debut and may show more still dropped back in trip. High Maintenance is another that will be suited on dropping back in trip.

Don’t Tell Claire is by Gutaifan, out of Avenbury. She was bred by Byerley Stud and was purchased for £15,000 at the Goffs Premier yearling sale. She is owned by Andrew Stonehill. Today she will be led up by Yard Manager, Lauren Webb, who rides her most of the time at home and overseen by travelling manager, Shaun Johnson.
