Thoughts on Dream Approval at Lingfield

Dream Approval runs in the 2.20 at Lingfield today. Thomas Brown rides in the seven furlong nursery handicap. Dream Approval won well on her second start at Brighton, she then went to Chester for a decent contest where she received on one of the worst rides imaginable, having been slowly away she was rushed up around the outside and travelled further than anything in the race, unsurprisingly she dropped away in the final stages of what looked a decent contest. Given a freshen up afterwards her recent homework suggests she has improved a bit.

This looks an easier race on paper than Dream Approval’s last assignment, although with several lightly raced types from big yards making handicap debuts improved performances from one or two would be of no surprise. Ghalib has improved with each start and should play a role. Pinter has hinted at the level of ability to take a similar contest. Whilst the more exposed The Dapper Tapper ran a good time on his very first start and hasn’t managed to match that performance since, sporting a visor now for the first time suggests that perhaps connections feel he hasn’t been giving his all.  Simply Magic ran his best race over this trip last time out is another who will be in the mix again.
