THOUGHTS ON DRUSILLA

Debutante Drusilla is having her first start today as she lines up at Haydock Park in the 4.05pm on Thursday 6th June. Jim Crowley will be taking the ride on this filly in the 1 mile 2 furlong handicap.

Drusilla is sure to be winning races, we expect her to learn from today’s experience and come forward for it. Drusilla is a half sister to L’enclume who won a mile and a half maiden on her third start for us. Their dam Mama Quilla was a mile and a half winner. Mama Quilla is perhaps best known for being the seventh winner for Richard Hughes when completing his seven timer at Windsor. She’s a half sister to Group 1 winners Divine Proportions & Whipper.

Some beautifully bred fillies on show, this could be a maiden that works out well. Queen of Soldier and Lasting Love have already shown they are up to winning a race at this level. Faifa and Power of Destiny suggested with normal improvement from their debut they will be too. Taramaslata is another that showed promise on debut and the extra couple of furlongs are likely to be a plus.

Drusilla runs for owners Gary & Lesley Middlebrook, who also bred the filly. She will be led up today by Josh Britton who cares for her daily at home.
