Thoughts on Ducissa at Chelmsford tomorrow

Ducissa will be making her final start tomorrow in the 8.20 at Chelmsford tomorrow evening (Monday 13th of March). Richard Kingscote rides in the six furlong handicap. The filly will be getting covered by Dark Angel in the coming weeks and it would be fantastic to get a win under her belt before she does so. A paddock injury as a youngster has hampered her career and made her tricky to train which is a shame as she is a filly with ability. Tomorrow she drops back to six furlongs which should help her settle better than on her latest start over seven furlongs. We have removed the hood so that she is as sharp as possible as it can sometimes flatten a horse out when push comes to shove. She is nicely drawn in stall two and we hope that with the drop in grade everything falls right for her.

The in form Menelik is drawn wide so it will be interesting to see if he sets a blazing pace for everything else to run at, especially with Penny Dreadful being another who likes to lead and has been doing so at a higher grade and may find things easier here. Other in form horses likely to be involved are Mighty Zip and Strictly Carter.
