Thoughts on Ducissa at Kempton

Ducissa makes her debut at Kempton Park this evening in the 7.40. Tom Queally rides in the seven furlong fillies maiden. The filly is a very well bred being a daughter of Exceed and Excel out of the outstanding broodmare Baize. Baize is the dam of Grade 1 winner Singhalese and two other black type performers as well the granddam of Sinhalite the leading three year old filly in Japan. The mission is very much to get a win on the board for this attractive future broodmare. The filly ran through a fence as a yearling and required extensive treatment to heal the wounds that meant she missed her two year old career hence the delay to the beginning of her career. The team at Wood Farm did an exceptional job with the filly. Tonight is about learning for Ducissa and anything else is a bonus but she goes nicely at home.

It will take a decent newcomer or something to step up significantly to beat the two horses likely to head up the market. Showreel ran a lovely race on debut and is a good looking filly and Aristocratic is well bred and has put together a string of placed efforts.img_6561-1.jpg
