Thoughts on duo of Tapeta runners today
Two runners the Tapeta today, Intrigue goes to Newcastle for the 6.20 where she bids to follow up on her maiden victory on her first start for the yard at Pontefract last month, this time with Dougie Costello aboard. She needed every yard of the stiff ten furlongs that day. Based on that the step up to a mile and half should be ideal. Her best runs for her previous trainer where on the polytrack and therefore she should take to the Tapeta.
Intrigue’s main rivals look to be a bit inconsistent but Alumutamarred who won over ten furlongs at the track on his penultimate start canbe forgiven a poor run on the turf since, Major Rowan has to prove that he is not just a Southwell specialist but is untried on the other all weather surfaces and Clear Spell must show a bit more enthusiasm for the game but does have the ability for this contest.
Harry’s Endeavour heads the to Wolverhampton for the 7.05 where he carries top weight under Timmy Murphy at his first attempt over a mile and three quarters. Timmy really gets the best out of the horse – those years of kidding along staying chasers being of huge benefit. There is a slight question about the all weather for Harry’s Endeavour but the trip should suit given what we have seen before from him and he did all his previous all weather racing over inadequate trips.
Harry’s rivals have managed to evade the winners enclosure up this point in their careers. That said they are young stayers still learning their job and improving all the time. Chestnut Storm did best of several of these that met in a course and distance race whilst Placedela Concorde is could improve for the extra half mile on handicap debut.
