Thoughts on Flooded

Flooded goes in the 6.40 at Ffos Las tonight. George Downing rides the gelding in the mile and and a half maiden. Flooded has been a bit tricky temperament wise but is hopefully growing up and if he can get involved in the race this evening he should show a bit more. He is a big raw horse and will want staying distances so needs to show enough ability to get a handicap mark if he is to have much of a future on the flat.

On the extreme heavy going the runners are likely to encounter its really a case of who will handle the conditions the best, so previous form might not be the best guide here and expect a couple more non-runners before the race begins. If the effort of Saturday’s run on soft ground hasn’t left too much of a mark then Waterville Dancer has good looking claims. Steaming has also handled soft and on his best run merits respect here but was disappointing last time out.
