Thoughts on Friday’s Runners

We send out 3 runners today from Sarsen Farm on Friday 7th June. We head to Brighton with our first two runners and then over to Haydock later in the evening. BEAUTIFUL SKY is having his first start for the yard in the 4.30pm, a handicap over 6 furlongs. MONKEY MISS lines up in the 5.05pm in the 3 year old handicap also over 6 furlongs. Dylan Hogan will be riding both the runners at Brighton.

VINCE LOMBARDI is having his second start for the yard in the 6.58pm at Haydock. Rossa Ryan will be in the saddle for the 6 furlong handicap,

BEAUTIFUL SKY

Beautiful Sky makes his first start for the yard. He’s come over from France so it’s slight guess work to understand exactly how his form fits in here. His mark looks reasonable. He hasn’t always been the best away in his previous races. The have done a bit of work with him to attempt to rectify, that but it could take a couple of runs for him to get his confidence on that front. His win came over seven furlongs and that’s probably the type of trip he is really bred for. However, he hasn’t always looked the most straight forward in his races and the aim is that he will settle a bit better over this shorter trip.

Course form is always at a premium at Brighton and so Vodoo Ray and Pint of Bear still merit utmost respect despite being upped in grade. Conquest of Power is on a roll with visors fitted. He takes a bigger jump in class in what looks a competitive race despite the small field.

Beautiful Sky runs for owners James Finch and Sam Sutton. He will be led up by Shannon Pasotti who cares for him daily at home.

MONKEY MISS

Monkey Miss won impressively two starts backs. She found the race coming too soon when attempting to follow up under a penalty. The form of her win has worked out well so hopefully she can bounce back to form here. She needs to show she can handle this track and that quicker ground isn’t an issue for her.

Monkey Miss and winning connections

Katie G got her head in front last time out, that wasn’t an overly strong race so she probably needs to find a bit more again. Kurimu has a couple of decent runs to her name and the drop back to six furlongs could be plus albeit her pedigree doesn’t suggest it.

Monkey Miss runs in the colours of owner Wayne Clifford and was bred by Sarah Clifford at their Byerley Stud. She will be led up by Epona Miller who cares for her daily at home.

VINCE LOMBARDI

Vince Lombardi missed the break on his first start for us and as a result never really got involved in the race on his first start for the yard. The silver lining is that the run should have brought him forward a bit as he was returning after a fairly lengthy absence.

Vince Lombardi

A big field sprint handicap that looks pretty open. Trilby is dropping in class having run well in a big field York sprint last time. Snuggle comes here in top form and is another who comes here in good heart and with a good run in a better grade of race last time out.

Vince Lombardi runs in the same colours as Beautiful Sky but for owners Dark Blue Bloodstock. He will be led up by Arla-Jade Cheshire.
