Thoughts on Harry’s Endeavour at Bath
Harry’s Endeavour runs int he 4.45 at Bath this afternoon, (Tuesday, July 12th). Thomas Brown fresh off his big win in the John Smith’s at York on Saturday takes over the reins as he has a light weight in the mile and five furlong handicap. Its a slight step up in trip for the three year old gelding as he takes on his elders for the first time. The extra furlong should be fine and if it brings about improvement that will be even better as he is beginning to look a bit exposed off his current mark, albeit he has been consistent finishing third and fourth on his two most recent starts. The only concern is that we ran just six days ago but this looked a race worth having a crack at when it was reoffered after only attracting seven declarations the first time around.
The race does look winnable with most of the main protagonists looking very exposed and or a bit out of sorts. Bernisdale has solid recent form and is coming off the back of a win but doesn’t normally perform on the quicker ground he is likely to encounter tomorrow so is also vulnerable.
