Thoughts on Helm Rock
Helm Rock lines up at Chepstow today (Friday 10th of June) at 1.35pm, Andrea Atzeni is in the saddle. The gelding has been in good heart this season and deserves a win. He probably ran into a a very useful horse on his penultimate start, in Substantial. That rival subsequently found only one too good in a class three handicap. Last time he was hampered at the start and sat last in a big field at York. It was a race where it paid to be racing further forward. He finished off that race well and should find this lower grade contest less competitive.

The big danger here is Sir Plato who has an excellent course and distance record, and showed as much when winning here on Saturday. Macs Dilemma arrives here on the back of a hat trick, he has revelled in the switch to turf of late. Whilst this would represent a career best effort one has to respect a horse who is clearly in magnificent form.
Helm Rock runs in the colours of owners Capture The Moment VII Syndicate and will be led up by Shannon Pasotti, he is regularly ridden by Alex Swinswood, with Lauren Webb doing most of his faster work. James Pulley who cares for him daily at home is off on a well earned holiday.
