Thoughts on Hilltop
One runner today, Hilltop makes her racecourse debut at Lingfield in the 1.50pm. Rossa Ryan rides in the seven furlong novice.
A sweet filly who is ready to make a start to her career. She’s got a very mixed pedigree and a fairly quick action and we’re a little undecided at this stage what her best trip will end up being. Genetic analysis and her stride data which are normally a further guide also give a slightly mixed message at this stage. Seven seems a good intermediate distance to start out. She appears to have a great attitude and we’d expect her to learn from this first experience.
This looks likely to be between first time out winner Queen of Zafeen and Kinako Mochi who both showed a good level of form on debut. Both Queen of Zaffen and Kinako should find further improvement for their respective debuts. Spiritual Pursuit has posted two solid efforts when second on both starts to date. It will take a fairly smart debutant to give them a race.
Hilltop runs for owners Gary and Lesley Middlebrook who also bred the filly. She will be led up by Epona Miller who rides her daily at home.
