Thoughts on Intrigue at Newcastle
Intrigue makes the journey to Newcastle for the 5.50. Jim Crowley takes over the reins for the first time for this 1 mile two furlong event. It’s title chasing Jim’s first ride for the yard, his agent Tony Hind has been chasing the ride all week so the filly must have half a chance. A horse that has run well on several occasions only being out of the first three in handicaps onher most recent start when lack of pace and soft ground probably went against her. Switched back to the all weather, she should show the form she had previously shown during the early part of the season.
A race that looks fairly open, with a few horses seemingly out of form, Intrigue looks to have a decent chance when considering her previous run at the track when she only found one horse too good. Best Tamayuz looks likely to make the race a solid test of stamina which should suit Intrigue as she likes to come off the pace from a strongly run affair. Thermal Column looks of some interest on his previous form at this trip with Roman De Brut steadily on the incline.
