Thoughts on Karnage at Kempton today

Karnage runs in the 2.10 at Kempton (Tuesday the 15th of December). Luke Morris rides the gelding in the mile and a quarter handicap. Karnage ran a promising race on his all weather debut last time out at Wolverhampton to finish second, it was the first time he had really been involved in the finish and Luke who rode him that day felt he would be all the better for having got involved in the battle. The form of the race looks good with the third winning since. The only major negative is the poor draw in twelve of fourteen which leaves a horse liable to being trapped out wide and having to travel further round the bends.

This race looks a tight contest. The obvious danger looks to be Putaringonit who won her foruth start, the first time she tackled this trip and looks open to more improvement, albeit this is a tougher grade of race. Leonard who has some fairly useful all weather form when with a previous trainer runs in the lowest grade he has ever encountered on the all weather, having looked like the extra distance today would suit on his last appearance. If I Were A Boy has been very consistent of late, having been placed on her last three starts in this sort of company over this trip.
