Thoughts on La Donacella at Wetherby this evening
La Donacella runs in the 8.40 at Wetherby this evening (Tuesday, 21st July). Joe Fanning rides in the ten furlong maiden. She ran a great race on her first start of the season at Goodwood to finish second at 66/1 getting beaten just a neck when going down to a more experienced rival.
La Donacella sets the form standard in this maiden although improvement from one of the lightly raced runners shouldn’t be ruled out. The unraced California is well bred and could also pose a threat.
