Thoughts on Lalinde and Ghetto Diva at Wolverhampton this evening
Ghetto Diva and Lalinde head to Wolverhampton tonight (24th October) for the 8.40. They will be ridden by Luke Morris and Richard Kingscote respectively. Ghetto Diva showed a small amount of promise on her debut at Lingfield earlier in the summer and picked up a small injury in the process. She looked to be doing her best work towards the end that day and so we have stepped her up in trip despite her pedigree perhaps suggesting she ought to be more of a speedy type. Lalinde is a bit of an enigma, she has done some nice work at home although she isn’t the most consistent type – on her two starts to date she has race far too keenly for her on good. We have worked on getting her to settle better at home and adding a hood has helped the process. She probably wants a bit further than the ten furlongs she races over tonight but at this stage it is more important that we get her to settle in a race and that she finishes her race properly. By dropping her back in trip she ought to be helped by the quicker pace of the gallop.
This doesn’t look an overly strong maiden and Mahidya has run well enough in all three of her starts to date to suggest she is capable of winning an event such as this although her most recent run was a little disappointing. Bison Grass ran nicely last time out and Memphis Magic ought to improve on his debut second – albeit he was well beaten that day.
