Thoughts on L’Enclume

L’Enclume runs in the 630 at Kempton this evening (Wednesday 5th of January). Richard Kingscote is aboard in the 12 furlong novice. L’enclume ran with encouragement on her second start, staying on nicely over a mile and possibly would have been a bit closer with a clearer run. She is bred to appreciate this longer distance.

This is a difficult race to assess, the two best bits of form on offer are Fiesta de Vega who shoulders a big weight and hasn’t run for 474 days and Minister for Magic who won a soft ground maiden in Ireland, and has since switched yards. Devilry is a well bred newcomer but stuck out quite wide with the draw.

L’enclume was bred and is owned by Gary & Lesley Middlebrook at their Wood Farm Stud. She will be led up this evening by James Pulley who cares for her at home.
