Thoughts on Lovers’ Gait

Lovers’ Gait runs in the 5.30 at Sandown. Regular partner Liam Keniry is aboard for the ten furlong handicap. The game filly is looking for her third win of the season. She drops back in trip after running well over a mile and half last time out in a higher grade of race last time out, the easier going that day wasn’t really in her favour.

Lovers’ Gait winning at Bath

The race looks open with several lightly raced types in opposition, several trying handicaps for the first time, Rose Grey probably the pick of those and some stepping up in trip as well – Suprise Encounter, looks likely to benefit the most. Lovers’ Gait is the only previous winner in the field. Of the more exposed runners Gonna Dancelot has the single best piece of form that, came on easier going over a mile and a half but there is no reason to believe this quicker ground will be an issue for her.

Lovers’ Gait races for Simon Hope and Stephen Barrow. The filly is by Gleneagles, out of the Statue Of Liberty mare, Liberally. Lovers’ Gait will be led up by Billie Portwin, who rides her everyday at home.
