Thoughts on Mandria today at Kempton
Mandria runs in the 6.40 at Kempton this evening (23rd of October). Steve Drowne takes the ride in the seven furlong maiden. Mandria has shown some potential at home but has been green on both her starts and not been particularly suited on the softish going she has run on so far. She should be more mature and professional this time around. She should be able to show up a lot better in these conditions. Seven furlongs ought to suit her as she has just been slightly out of her comfort over six on her last two starts and not able to travel in the race.
It looks like this is a very competitive maiden and both Wiener Valkyrie and Hawkin have done more than enough to suggest that they will win at least a maiden at some point. Wiener Valkyrie is a half sister to Crowded House who was a high class on the polytrack and by Sharmadal whose progeny generally go well on the surface so should be suited by the conditions. Melodious was set a stiff task on debut and its not beyond the realms of possibility that with the experience she is able to get involved.
