Thoughts on Medrano

Medrano is our first runner from our new base at Sarsen Farm. He goes in the mile and 3 furlong London Series Middle Distance Final at Kempton tonight at 6:00. Rob Winston rides the gelding. Medrano has shown he retains plenty of his old ability with several strong finishes particularly on the all weather since joining us. Unfortunately he has been throwing away his races at the start. We have removed the hood in the hope he will be more alert at the gates. This has been the target since he ran in the qualifier in the summer and it’s a valuable prize.

It’s a competitive race but considering the prize money on offer not as deep as one might expect. Buzz looks the obvious stand out on form and and the one to beat. Envoy looks the next best in recent form. Of the outsiders Castlelyons would be interesting if near his best for his recent run following a break.
