Thoughts on Monkey Miss

Monkey Miss makes her racecourse debut in the 2.05 at Nottingham this afternoon. Luke Morris will be on board the two year old filly in the 5 furlong maiden.

Monkey Miss has plenty of speed about her. She is from a fast family and has shown that pace at home. Monkey Miss’s dam was a five furlong winner on soft ground. This gives us some hope in today’s condtions. The filly is quite light on her feet so its a learning curve as to whether she will handles the testing ground.

Key to Cotai has shown good form over six furlongs in races that are working out well. Those runs were on quick ground but class should tell here. Rogue Rosie would not need to show a huge step forward to get involved. Gogo Yubari started life in Listed Company and although found wanting, wasn’t disgraced and this is easier for her second start. Angel Shared turns out quickly but appeared to handle conditions yesterday at Leicester, albeit it’s likely a bit of improvement would be required.

Monkey Miss runs in the colours of Wayne Clifford. The fillyy was bred at Byereley Stud by Sarah Clifford. She will be led up today by Epona Miller. She is regularly ridden at home by Mark Lawson.
