Thoughts on Mutineer at Wolverhampton this evening

Mutineer is our first runner of 2018 in the 6.40 at Wolverhampton. George Downing is on board as the gelding has his second attempt at a mile and a quarter handicap. He is unexposed over this trip and likes the track which are plusses. The negative would be the wide draw. We’ve put the poor run last time down to the track, he’s run twice at Chelmsford and never really travelled on either occasion.

The race is a tight affair with a few in form horses on show. King Kevin is on a winning streak but this is a tougher race. Another two with wide draws to overcome are; old stager Jack of Diamonds whilst not the force of old is more than capable at this level and the handicap debutant filly Valley of Light is also an interesting contender. Last time out winners Archipelago and Bayston Hill are well drawn but won easier contests than this.
