Thoughts on Mutineer at York

Mutineer runs in the 4.30 at York tomorrow (Friday 7th October) with Tom Queally doing the steering in the mile maiden. A little slow out of the gates and quite babyish, he didn’t show his true running at Haydock and the step up in trip is should suit. A good looking horse with correct action and conformation, Mutineer is showing signs that he will mature into a nice horse as a three year old. He looks a horse for the future but is sure to have improved from his first start.

The race at York could potentially be a decent race with a few horses having already had a couple of runs and a few potentially smart prospects running for the first time. Raheen House looks a good starting point in the race form-wise fending off the challenges from both an 80 rated horse and a 95 rated horse on his last start, he seems to be setting the standard at quite a high level. Interesting newcomers such as Crushed and Lord Commander are nicely bred and should give a good account of themselves.
