Thoughts on Not After Midnight

Not After Midnight runs in the 11.50am at Lingfield this morning. Rob Hornby rides the filly in the seven furlong nursery. She bids to go one better than when runner up over course and distance last month. She was raised seven pounds for that effort and is raised in grade as a result. She was well clear of previous winners that day and if able to get a bit of luck from a very wide draw should remain competitive here.

The race is a very open looking affair, with plenty of these being lightly raced and open to improvement. Enrolement won a similar event last time out on the all weather and probably represents the benchmark on that basis, although the wide draw poses a problem. High Seas has run good time figures but has the same issue. Of those better drawn Cwynar is improving with each run and Montague is consistent albeit quite exposed compared to some of these.
