Thoughts on Nyala

Nyala runs in the 9.10 at Bath this evening. Former champion jockey Jim Crowley will be in the saddle for the mile and a quarter handicap. The filly has a good attitude and has improved throughout the year and with each start finished a little closer to the front. She should enjoy the extra two furlongs she gets today and if she makes another small step forward should be right in the mix here.

Delirium is the most experienced runner in the field and sets the target for the younger less exposed horses, she has won a couple of slightly higher grade handicaps in the last year including on her last start so for the race its a decent standard she sets. Geetanjali is already a winner and looked suited by the step up in distance to ten furlongs last time out and looks a big danger. Ferrier’s trainers modus operandi is that his horses usually improve in form for stepping up in trip and a better run would not be a great surprise here.
