Thoughts on Outrage

Outrage runs in the 2.05 at Lingfield this afternoon (Friday 26th of November). PJ McDonald is on board the veteran sprinter as he bids for an eleventh career win, but his first over six furlongs. He has run some good races over the distance in the past and if his stamina is going to stretch it will be at a share track like Lingfield. He won over five furlongs at the track twice earlier in the season. He ran very well in when third two weeks ago at Newcastle clocking a useful speed figure and assuming he lasts home and gets the splits in the race a repeat of that effort should see him being involved.

Outrage winning at Lingfield earlier this year under Richard Kingscote

The race looks competitive a case could be made for a few here, two last time out winners in Fauvette and Musicka have different profiles, the former lightly raced and likely still progressing, whilst the older has operated at a higher level in his career and has slipped back to a level he is clearly still competitive at. Marks Bear is lightly raced in the context of this event and probably put a career best last time out and is still likely to be able to find further improvement. Coase couldn’t be completely discounted, on only his second start for new connections after a promising effort over seven on the turf. He had solid form over six earlier in his career. Twilight Madness is another interesting horse in this contest. He looked to be progressing well in the summer climbing through the handicap ranks. The slight gap since his last run does pose a question, however what it is in his favour is he looks to be only horse who makes the running and he could get away in front from stall one and if Hollie Doyle gets the fractions right prove hard to peg back, if the upward trajectory continues.

Outrage is by Exceed And Excel, out of the Cadeaux Genereux mare, Ludynosa. He races for Capture The Moment and Crowd Racing. Today he will be led up by James Pulley who looks after the sprinter at home.
