Thoughts on Outrage
Outrage goes in the 6.30 this evening at Newcastle (Tuesday, March 28th). Rossa Ryan takes the ride in the five furlong handicap. Outrage has been an amazing horse for us over the years and this is likely to be his last run. The enthusiasm is still there but the legs aren’t quite as quick as they once were. Newcastle is his favourite venue so it makes sense to try to go out on a high. He has won 10 races from 64 starts and been second a further 10 times, with 4 third placings.
The race is a typically tight sprint handicap. Phoenix Star has good course form including when just ahead of Outrage in November in a higher class of race. Faustus looks dangerous dropped to this level on his return from a break, and as a four year old is still open to improvement. The lightly raced Lazyitis is another who could still improve but does need to at this level.
Outrage runs in the colours of owners Capture the Moment & Crowd Racing. He will be led up today by James Pulley who cares for him at home.
