Thoughts on Outrage at Newcastle tomorrow
Outrage runs in the 2.00 at Newcastle tomorrow (Saturday December 10th). Champion apprentice Josephine Gordon rides the gelding in the five furlong handicap. Outrage has been unfortunate on several of his recent starts and we have decided that the straight five furlongs at Newcastle should go some way to eliminating some of the traffic problems that he has encountered in recent runs. This is his first overnight trip and as long as he doesn’t fret over night he should run another solid race.
The race looks competitive as one would expect of a class 3 handicap. There are a good mix of improving younger horses up against some hardened all weather veterans. Bosham is a proven force at this grade and put in a good show on his most recent start at Lingfield five days ago and sets a very solid standard. Memories Galore has proven capable in a lower grade but is yet to prove it at this level, all be it he is still an improving horse on all weather surfaces and has an excellent record. Likewise Showdaisy is on a roll, but hasn’t taken on horses of this calibre yet. Zapper Cass is untried at this trip and although not an obvious move on paper, he has recently joined his current yard. Dynamo Walt won a decent race a couple of starts back when Outrage missed the kick and is the benchmark.
