Thoughts on Passing Star at Wolverhampton
Passing Star runs in the 7.15 at Wolverhampton this evening (Wednesday 19th of July). George Downing is in the saddle for the seven furlong handicap. Passing Star is a new recruit to the yard and travelled nicely on his first run for the yard before getting pushed out wide. He didn’t finish with quite the enthusiasm we would have liked and with drop back up in trip have applied cheek pieces to sharpen him up a little. He’s a horse we are learning about and we gave him time to ease into a new routine and are gradually increasing his training load at home.
Mr Christopher is a pretty consistent horse in this grade over this course and distance and sets the benchmark in the race with a few having questions to answer. Newstead Abbey drops in class and if the blinkers spark any kind of revival he could be a player. Little Miss Kodi has her first run in a while but is lightly raced and has form to suggest she can win a race like this if fully fit.
