Thoughts on Piccadillo at Wolverhampton today

Piccadillo runs in the 8.20 at Wolverhampton this evening. Robert Winston rides in the seven furlong nursery. She retains the blinkers that saw her finish a very close fourth last time and once again looks to have a decent chance if putting up a similar performance. She is drawn nine which could make it difficult to make the running, which she seems to enjoy doing.

The race looks very open – handicap debutant Finton Friend steps up in trip and is seen as a danger as is Gavarnie Encore who won a similar race last time. Tumut ran well in a better race last time and has run well on the all weather. He is a bit inconsistent but if showing up at his best could be an interesting opponent.
