Thoughts on Promotion

Promotion heads to Wolverhampton this evening (Friday 25th of February). He will line up in the the extended nine and a half furlong maiden under Nicola Currie at 8.15pm. Promotion was heading to Southwell last Friday, but Storm Eunice had other plans that day. He has been gelded since an underwhelming debut effort towards the end of last season. He is a laid back character who will probably be more competitive in handicaps in due course.

Miss Messenger & After Eight both filled the runners up spot on their respective debuts. They set the standard here, both are open to further improvement with the benefit of experience. The same applies to the majority of the lightly raced field, would need a bigger step forward than the afore mentioned pair. The sole debutant Mugader has a decent pedigree and comes from a yard that regularly has first time out winners so warrants respect.

Promotion will be led up by Ilse Belien and overseen by travelling manager Shaun Johnson. She will race in the colours of Julia Lukas, Tom Aspinall and partners.
