Thoughts on Promotion
Promotion runs today (Wedensday April 20th) at Salisbury in the 6.40. Jack Mitchell is on board for the ten furlong handicap. Promotion had a horror trip around at Wolverhampton last time out in a messy race. He seemed to lack a bit of confidence in amongst horses so we have reached for the cheek pieces to encourage him to travel in a more forward going fashion. This is also his first go on the turf, which generally sees the progeny of his sire, Fast Company perform better.
A typically difficult 3 year old handicap to assess with a lot of the field having their first run of the season, and many stepping up in distance. Girl in the Picture ran well nine days ago on her reappearance when sporting cheek pieces for the first time. The filly left her previous form behind and she sets the standard if able to stay the extra distance and handle this faster ground.
Promotion will be running for owners J Lukas, T Aspinall & Partners and will be led up by Sammy Barnett and overseen by Tamsin Karn.
